30 May Why We Love What We Do!

For almost 17 years I have had the privilege of sharing one of the most special days in a couple’s relationship.  We have successfully executed hundreds of weddings and have memories to last a lifetime.  However, we recently experienced a first.  We received a review from a guest at one of our weddings.  Our commitment to each event has always gone beyond our client.  We strive for each guest and vendor to have an enjoyable experience.  How awesome is it that this guest noticed and took the time to share her thoughts on WeddingWire!

I was a guest for my best friend’s daughters wedding on May 21st, 2017 and was able to watch how Shawn and her team created such a stress free wedding day for Erica. They took care of all the little and big details, made sure everything was just perfect and set a tone for the entire day that allowed the bride and her family to enjoy the day without feeling rushed or stressed whatsoever. I would highly recommend Shawn Schindler Events to anyone who wants to enjoy their day and be assured that it will be everything they imagined and more!

30 May Meet Meredith!

We are excited about our 2017 summer intern.

Meredith Teasdale is a Senior at East Carolina University and is studying Hospitality Management, with a concentration in Conventions and Special Events, along with a minor in Business Administration. Meredith is involved on campus as being apart of the ECU Pirate Planners and managing the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. She is very detail oriented and organized and has a list for just about anything and everything. While she is not in school or working, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. Meredith went on to say to me, “I needed reassurance that this is exactly what I wanted to do, and I received that reassurance when I cried after the first wedding I assisted!” She is super excited to put her passion to work with Shawn Schindler Events this summer and meet some awesome clients and vendors!

08 Jan A True Southern Bride and Groom

As many of you may know, Shawn Schindler Events has recently introduced our new full feature spread in Southern Bride and Groom which featured Angie Cole and David Padilla’s glamorous urban wedding at The Stockroom at 230.

While you’re flipping through the pages highlighting the Shawn Schindler Events team, make sure to pay attention to our advertisement following the feature on page 190 in Volume 29, Winter/Spring 2016. Colorful floral’s from Expressions of Love and smiling faces dressed in delicate pastels, fill the page for Macky and Daniel Trotter’s wedding at the The Pavilions at the Angus Barn.

The love-filled ceremony took place at Saint Mary’s Chapel at Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh, in a chapel dawned with the couples’ initials on red doors. As guests filled the pews, excitement filled the couple which stayed evident through every picture captured by Ginny Corbett Photography.

We featured Macky and Daniel Trotter as our main advertisement page wedding for the simple elegance, timeless design and spectacular experience we at Shawn Schindler Events shared with the newlyweds and their families alike. Every moment in the planning process was filled with laughter, kindness and overwhelming joy, making each task within our services to them something to remember.

The couple held strong to their country roots with their extravagant reception intertwining a classic Southern rustic atmosphere with a vibrant palette of pinks and greens. It was obvious to us that we had to feature Macky and Daniel within our advertisement to display not only our skills within our career, but to provide readers with our love for the unique twist on classic Southern wedding design. Bringing to life the Trotter’s vision for their ethereal Carolina wedding was not only a gratifying experience but one we at Shawn Schindler Events knew we had to share for all to see.

Macky and Daniel were our very own, True Southern Bride and Groom.

02 Nov Shawn Schindler…..Celebrating 15 Years!!

057Shawn Shindler Team _J

Shawn Schindler, Owner and Lead Consultant of Shawn Schindler Events is celebrating 15 years in the event industry and we feel the best way to celebrate such a momentous milestone, is to give back!

Shawn shares, “I have been so blessed by my career!  I deeply value the relationships with the event professionals I have the privilege of working with each week and our amazing staff, past and present, that have contributed greatly to our success.   Most importantly, my life has been so enriched by the hundreds of couples and families I have worked with during my 15 years.  Giving back seems small compared to how full my life is as a professional event planner.”

During our anniversary month of November, for every client that books our Spectacular event package, Shawn Schindler Events will donate $150 to one of our team selected charities. In addition to this, for any client who books our Timeless package, we will donate $50.

Our team thought long and hard about how we should celebrate the accomplishments and success of Shawn Schindler Events. After realizing how passionate we are about our community and all of those within it that help make every event we do so special, we realized giving back that very same community is the best way to celebrate.

We have been so blessed to be able to have been a part of so many individuals’ lives and to be a part of so many more as the years continue. It truly is a huge accomplishment for the Shawn Schindler Events team to have made it 15 years in the hands with growing success, of Shawn Schindler.

Each one of us came together to think of our own local nonprofits to which we would charitably contribute and our choices are as follows. Every single one of these amazing organizations have provided our community with resources, help and so much more. Follow the links to learn more about each of our selections and all that they have provided for our Triangle Area and beyond.

30 Oct Weddings, Parties, and Celebrations Don’t just happen!

Wedding Work

Our throwback Thursday for this week is from a wedding a few years ago when consultants Shawn and Emily traveled to Statesville, North Carolina. This may be a #tbt but our commitment and dedication to our brides hasn’t waivered, we continue to go above and beyond to make each clients special day one to remember!

Weddings, parties and celebrations don’t just happen! A lot goes on behind the scenes. Enjoy a few photos of Shawn and Emily in action at Kristin and Todd’s wedding in Statesville, North Carolina. We had the pleasure of working with Brian Mullins Photography for this wedding. Shawn Schindler Events has always admired Brian’s work but this was our first times actually working together. Since this wedding a few years ago we have had the pleasure of working with Brian on some of our biggest events yet!

Here Shawn is pinning a flower on our groom, Todd, and the rest of the guys in the wedding party. This is a moment Shawn still loves; we can’t have flowers out of place for photos!

I love this photo; children attendants can add so much to the overall feel of the ceremony. After this little guy’s dad went down the aisle, he decided he wanted to go with dad, not wait for his turn. We always tell our couples we are experienced with children and if there are issues prior to sending them down the aisle, we will take care of them. After trying to get this little one to wait his turn and sending the wedding party down the aisle at the same time, I can honestly say I am out of practice with 18 month old “wiggle worms” and very thankful for my assistant!

What a unique signature board, you actually etch the signatures in the matting with a special pen. We take items like this from our clients weeks prior to the event so they don’t have to worry about them getting there!

Cake CuttingCake Cutting2.

Cutting the cake; this is not normally the responsibility of the our staff. However, we always do whatever it takes to make the event a wonderful experience for all. Kristin had asked her aunts to cut the cake and they were nervous about not knowing the proper way to cut a wedding cake so that you get the number of serving needed. So, give us some gloves and we can take care of it!

Shawn and Kristin

We are constantly learning and sharping our skills. Thanks to Mrs. Veda, one of our favorite alterations specialist, for sharing this interesting technique for lifting the hem of the gown when the bride changes into flats!

Fun with Brian

I have said it before, we love what we do and have fun doing it. Thanks to Brian Mullins and Ginger for such great photos and helping us make Kristin and Todd’s wedding special!

27 Oct New Name, New Look…

I have 14 years’ experience in the event industry as a social and corporate planner, the last 7 years owning my own event consulting company. Making the decision to rebrand my company wasn’t easy! But “Shawn Schindler” has been known in the Triangle event industry for a long time. Once I made the decision to change the name to better reflect the caliber of events we produce, the decision to partner with the right Raleigh professionals to make it happen was easy!

When I started my business 7 years ago, the first person I contacted was graphic designer, Shari Sasser of Sasser Studios. Shari always takes my random ideas and turns them into something spectacular! Throughout the years, she has learned the “weddings” business so that we can present a look that is current for the company. We have also learned never use “brown” in a logo!

I first met Ginny Corbett at a wedding we worked together in May 2013. Two strong, passionate professionals working together required bonding! After several other events together, I am thrilled to recommend Ginny to my clients and to call her a friend. I hate having my photo taken! Ginny understood my vision, she made me and our entire staff very comfortable and captured the essence of our new look!

Lastly, thank you Jill Donovan with Donovan’s Dish for introducing me to Mike Rosado (El Jefe) and Jeremy Scott with M.R. Creative! Our new website is perfect!! Thank you for listening to my random ideas, your undying patience with the million emails and edits and making our vision a reality!!

The response from the Triangle event community, previous and active clients, our friends and family has been overwhelming! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! We had a vision but like the events we execute, it took a team to execute the “production” successfully.

30 Sep Shawn Schindler Events team photoshoot

What a blast our company photo shoot was! Thank you so much to Ginny Corbett of Ginny Corbett Photography for joining us and making us laugh while taking some AMAZING photos! I know for me personally, someone taking my photo isn’t something I love doing, but Ginny made it so much fun for me and our whole group.

We met at 18 Seaboard near downtown Raleigh for our photo shoot. They had an awesome rooftop veranda where we had a flawless backdrop, the downtown skyline. The appetizers weren’t bad either; thanks so much to 18 Seaboard for their hospitality!

18 Seaboard is a perfect place to have an engagement party, bridal luncheon, or corporate holiday party. Let Ginny Corbett take some amazing photographs and Shawn Schindler Events take all your planning worries away. Everyone check them out!!
